Eight Months Old

Alex has been working so hard at standing this month. He pulls himself up on large toys, boxes, furniture or anything else he can find. Most of the time, he supports himself quite well on his wobbly little feet. Several times, though, he's gone completely over backwards and knocked his head on the hard floor, but seems none the worse for wear. He's also becoming much more verbal and in the mornings we're treated to long monologues of "oooooh, eeeeeee, goooooo" as he wakes up.

Alex was getting sort of frustrated with his pureed veggies, so we've switched to more finger foods and he enjoys being able to feed himself with them. Even though he only has two teeth, he's getting really adept at eating things like peeled apple slices, Cheerios and tofu cubes.

In a couple weeks, Alex is going on tour! We'll be spending most of December visiting Matt's family in Missouri and Leanne's parents in Oklahoma, with a very likely chance of seeing Matt's Kansas relatives on the way. After the holidays, Leanne and Alex will head out to Oregon to see the extended family there. We can't wait to show him off to everybody!
